Toronto Tabla Youth Ensemble presents concert season premiere – tickets available now
Toronto Tabla Youth Ensemble is premiering their season repertoire on Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 7 – 9 PM at Westedge Community Church, Mississauga.
This group of budding percussionists boasts an exciting repertoire founded on the classical rhythmic system of North India. Members use their multiple talents to blend together contemporary rhythms featuring the western drum kit, other world percussion, and interactive video technology to enhance their set.
The evening will also feature a premiere screening of the Ensemble’s latest music video Dream Symposium, directed by Melissa Das-Arp and funded by the Foundation for the Assistance of Canadian Talent on Recording (FACTOR). The video features the Youth Ensemble along with Kathak dancer Labonee Mohanta and members of her dance company.
These next generation Canadian artists aged 8-15 have been trained by Tabla maestro and Artistic Director of the Toronto Tabla Ensemble Ritesh Das.
